Arike Ogunbowale
Arike Ogunbowale, the American professional in basketball for the Dallas Wings in the Women's National Basketball Association. The basketball team she played for was the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, prior to her being picked by the Wings as the 5th overall pick of the 2019 WNBA draft. Arike Ogunbowale was born on March 2nd, 1997, in Milwaukee Wisconsin to parents Yolanda and Gregory Ogunbowale. Mario Ogunbowale is her 26 year old brother. Dare Ogunbowale, 20 years older. Since she was the youngest of her siblings, she was considered to be the spoilt by her parents. The father of her Gregory was posted as a soldier in the Nigerian Army for quite some duration. Arike graduated from Divine Savior Holy Angels High School in her home town. When she was at school, she also played three seasons of varsity soccer. Ogunbowale's outstanding skills led to the school winning spectacular victories repeatedly. In her senior year, she has compiled 1,477 points with 739 rebounds. Ogunbowale won gold medals at the 2013 FIBA Americas U16 Championship as well as the 2014 FIBA U17 World Championship, as well as the 2013 FIBA 3x3 U18 Championship. She was named to the USA Youth Olympic Women's Basketball Team 7 July 2014. Ogunbowale is also selected as a member of the ACC All-Freshman Team after her first collegiate season.
